PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for preventing a state of inverse insertion of an electrolytic capacitor are provided to prevent the damage of circuits by deciding correctly states of inverse insertion of electrolytic capacitors mounted on a PCB. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for preventing inverse insertion of an electrolytic capacitor includes a sequential voltage measurement unit(21), a decision unit(22), and a display unit(23). The sequential voltage measurement unit(21) is connected to a plurality of electrolytic capacitors inserted into a PCB in order to measure sequentially voltages induced to aluminum cases of each electrolytic capacitor. The decision unit(22) decides states of inverse insertion of the electrolytic capacitors by comparing the measured voltages of the sequential voltage measurement unit to a setup value. The display unit(23) displays the states of the inverse insertion of the electrolytic capacitors.
