It comprises a dust separating section (60) disposed in an air suction duct extending from the connecting port (43) or suction port (52) of a cleaner ma in body (20) to the air suction opening (33A) in a motor fan (33) and adapted t o separate dust drawn into together with air through the connecting port (43) or suction port (52), and a dust collecting section for arresting the dust separated from the dust separating section (60). And the dust separating section (60) of this electric vacuum cleaner has a dust guide space into whi ch dust drawn in from the connecting port (43) or suction port (52) is flowed a t one end and that guides the inflow dust from the other end to the dust collecting section by inertial force, and an air guide duct is provided that communicates with somewhere between the ends of the dust guide space and tha t communicates with the air suction opening (33A) in the motor fan (33) withou t passing through the dust collecting section.
