<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for medical image processing which realize automatic start of composition of images when image data required for composition of an image obtained from a set of stimulable phosphor sheets resulting from divided photographing of a same object are prepared. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with: an input means 39 to be used for directly or indirectly designating the number of photographing sheets of divided imaged when performing divided photographing of the same object; a storage means 35 for storing information expressing the number of photographing sheets designated by using the input means; an image composition means 33 for compositing divided image data expressing a plurality of the divided images obtained by performing divided photographing of the same object and generating composite image data; and a control means 38 controlling the image composition means to start composition of divided image data when the divided image data expressing the divided images of the designated number of photographing sheets is inputted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
