<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for photographic printing system capable of effectively using the unoccupied hour of a printer. <P>SOLUTION: A photographic printing system comprises a photographic film scanner, the control device, and the printer. The control device executes the image processing of image-processing the image data scanned from a scanner, and controls each part of the system. The control device has a display for displaying an operation screen, and an operator operates the system through the operation screen. The operation screen has an auto-print icon 33e. When a printing request is received from an input device different from the photographic film scanner, that effect is reported by the auto-print icon 33e.
