<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network printer for precisely coping with a print request according to the history information of the control operation of a network to control the printer for power saving. <P>SOLUTION: The history setting operation information of a host computer 10 and terminal devices 11a to 11n, which is recorded by a laser printer 12a and the operation information of the host computer and the terminal devices, which is detected at intervals of unit time, are compared with each other so that the laser printer 12a controls the change of an operation mode of a printer to quickly and smoothly correspond to a print request, whereby the print operation preventing wasteful consumption of power can be performed efficiently. In the lapse of designated time from the operation mode change control, job occurrence count information is compared with the information at changing control, and when a difference above regulated is found, the laser printer 12a corrects a set operation mode at changing control, the history set operation information is corrected and set, whereby the printer can cope with variation of exceeding the reference value of the print job occurrence count and cope with the subsequent print job according to the correction history set operation information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
