<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilization method and an apparatus for sterilizing germs attached to an object to be sterilized without affecting its quality. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with: an electrolytic water generation part 2 which generates electrolytic water by making current flow through electrodes 11 and 12 for electrolysis dipped in water to be subjected to electrolysis by a power source 13 and generating a hypohalous acid, ozone, or active oxygen in the electrolytic water; a sterilization tank 3 for storing the electrolytic water generated by the generation part 2 and dipping the object to be sterilized to the electrolytic water; and a heating part 4 for warming the electrolytic water to be stored in the tank 3 to a prescribed temperature.
