<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which does not cause fixing irregularity in a glossy paper mode. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has the glossy paper mode, a fixing device incorporated in the image forming apparatus, a central part temperature detection means for detecting temperature in the vicinity of the center of the fixing device, an end temperature detection means for detecting temperature in the vicinity of the end of the fixing device, a temperature detection means for detecting the in-machine temperature around the fixing device, and a heat discharge fan for restraining the rise of the in-machine temperature by cooling heat due to heating from the fixing device. In the apparatus, the speed of the heat discharge fan is varied in accordance with the temperature detection value by the temperature detection means for detecting the in-machine temperature around the fixing device in the glossy paper mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
