<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber array 100 for adjusting a distance from an arrangement reference surface 3 to the center point of each optical fiber 5 to a desired set distance H, and to provide its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The optical fiber 5 is arranged in contact with the flat surface of a plate member A2, an adjusting layer 7 is interposed between the plate member B1 and the plate member A and the back surface of the plate member B is defined as the arrangement reference surface 3. In the case of defining the desired set distance from the center column of the optical fiber to the arrangement reference surface as H, the maximum value of a thickness dimension in the plate member B as dmax and the radius of the optical fiber as r, the adjusting layer satisfying the condition of (dmax+r)<H compensates deviation from the set distance H accompanying the irregularity of the thickness dimension of the plate member B and the distance from the center point of each optical fiber to the arrangement reference surface is set to be almost the same as the desired set distance H. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
