摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary engine brake mechanism of two-cycle compressor type for obtaining a large braking force while suppressing complication of the structure in a four-cycle engine. <P>SOLUTION: The direction of magnetizing poles of electromagnetic coils 34 and 34' is inverted by inverting the direction of the current running in the electromagnetic coils 34 and 34' of a cam shaft side housing 32 connected to an exhaust valve side cam shaft, and the phase difference from permanent magnets 35 and 35' of a gear side housing connected to a timing gear is changed fromθ1 toθ2. The exhaust valve side cam shaft is advanced by the phase differenceθ(=θ2-θ1), and the regular running mode (Fig. (a)) as a four-cycle engine is switched to the braking mode (Fig. (b)) of two-cycle compressor type. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p>
