PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyurethane resin that has improved heat resistance, especially greatly improved melt dropping at burning. SOLUTION: In the polyurethane resin comprising an epoxy-containing urethane prepolymer and a polyol as main components obtained by causing a polyisocyanate to react with an epoxy compound having a hydroxide group and an epoxy group, the epoxy-containing polyurethane resin satisfies the formula: E/U=0.05-0.7 (equivalence ratio) wherein E is the amount of the epoxy group in the epoxy compound and U is the amount of the urethane group produced by the reaction between the isocyanate group of the isocyanate compound used as a raw material of the polyisocyanate with the hydroxide group.
