PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control device for suppressing shocks in the N→D selection of an automatic transmission. SOLUTION: The engine control device comprises a changeover detection means 35 to detect changeover from a stop range to a traveling range of an automatic transmission, an ignition timing control means 38 to control the ignition timing of an engine to a predetermined value, and an ignition timing correction means 38 to correct the ignition timing to a spark advance side from a predetermined value when a first predetermined time is elapsed after the change-over to the traveling range is detected by the changeover detection means while a vehicle is stopped in an idling state.
