<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for a fuel cell, having high activity and a high reaction rate to fuel. <P>SOLUTION: A catalyst layer 22 comprising Pt, Ru or an alloy having Pt as a main ingredient is formed on the surface of a conductive carrier 21. In a condition in which a mixture of the Pt group element compound and the conductive carrier is gelled or kept highly viscous, the Pt group element compound is reduced and baked to form the catalyst comprising the Pt group element on the conductive carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
