PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical component, an optical component housing case for housing the optical component, and an optical fiber housing method, with which the breakage/damage of an optical fiber are easily and surely suppressed and the optical component is housed in a small space.

SOLUTION: The optical component 10 is constituted such that the connection end part T to an optical component body 1 of the optical fibers 3a and 3b is parallel to the connection surfaces (side faces 1a and 1b) with the optical fibers 3a and 3b in the optical component body 1. The optical component 10 is housed in the optical component housing case 20 by winding the optical fibers 3a and 3b around the optical component body 1.
