PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a change-over position detection device provided with a structure as simple as possible for accurately detecting an oil passage change-over position of a drive change-over valve. SOLUTION: Since a shift position sensor 70 includes a gap sensor 74 which is a valve element position detection sensor changing output signal SG according to movement of a taper part 72 which is a detected part provided on a part of a spool type valve element 30, the shift position sensor 70 can accurately detect that the valve element 30 reaches considered oil passage change-over positions P, R, N, D based on corresponding relation of a plurality of the oil passage switch-over positions P, R, N, D stored in a memory device 78 beforehand and output signal SG thereof. Consequently, the change-over position detection device provided with a simple structure as simple as possible for accurately detecting the oil passage change-over position of a manual valve 28 of the drive change-over valve can be provided.
