A lock for a swinging door (12) comprises a lock casing (21) having a fore-end (24) and at least a first side wall (22). A first bolt (26) spring-loaded for engagement with a stationary engagement member (16) of a door case (18) or the like is movable between a locking position in which it does not extend beyond said fore-end (24), and an open position, in which it is retracted into said lock casing (21). The lock casing (21) has an opening (25) in its fore-end (24) and its first side wall (22), said opening enabling engagement between said stationary engagement member and said first bolt (26) in its locking position thereof.
