METHOD FOR REMOVING DEPOSIT OF IMAGE CARRIER, PROCESS CARTRIDGE USING THE SAME, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing deposits on an image carrier, which method can effectively remove deposits on the surface of a photoreceptor and maintains cleaning performance for a long period.

SOLUTION: The method is provided with a step of removing the deposits in addition to a step of forming images. During the step of removing the deposits, the amount of a developer transported to a PG section is increased by a change in a PG gap by the reverse rotation of a developing roller 9 and the movement of a developing roller 2 and by a change in a DG gap by the movement of a doctor blade 10 and the surface of the photoreceptor 1 is polished by the developer. A developing bias is preferably impressed to the developing roller 9 during the polishing.
