PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the user of a digital still camera with appropriate advice information readily. SOLUTION: Photographing condition of image data representative of an image photographed by a user is analyzed (step 302), frequency of occurrence is totalized for each conditional item corresponding to the results of analysis and stored (step 304), the totalized and stored frequency of each conditional item is compared with a preset threshold value and advice information is generated and presented if the threshold value is exceeded (steps 504-508).
