PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a loss of light and eliminate a possibility of interference with a main beam when monitoring the output state of a light outputted from a light source such as a laser or the like. SOLUTION: The sensor for monitoring light is provided with a transmissive optical element 16 that is arranged on the main optical path of a main beam outputted from a laser oscillator 10 and an optical sensor 20 that receives the reflection light of the main beam that is reflected by the transmissive optical element 16 and is away from the main optical path, and it monitors the output state of a light on the basis of signals outputted from the optical sensor 20.
