PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas combustion device capable of carrying out combustion operation at an ideal air-fuel ratio without setting a gas kind. SOLUTION: This gas combustion device furnished with a flow rate sensor to detect a mass flow rate of fuel gas and a gas flow rate control valve to adjust the flow rate of the fuel gas on a gas pipe to supply the fuel gas to a burner computes a calorific value Hg given to heated water in accordance with a temperature difference of incoming water temperature Ti and outgoing hot water temperature To of a heat exchanger and incoming water quantity W to the heat exchanger, computes a calorific value HG per unit mass of the used gas from this calorific value Hg and the flow rate G of the fuel gas and sets air quantity OL required for combustion of the used gas of the unit mass in accordance with the calorific value HG. Additionally, the number of revolution of an air fan is set in accordance with this air quantity OL and the flow rate G of the fuel gas by computing the air quantity OL required for combustion of the used gas of the unit mass in accordance with the calorific value HG.
