PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine which dispenses with such a troublesome operation for checking a sound volume as operating actually the game machine to hear a sound effect outputted from the machine so as to check the sound volume switched over. SOLUTION: When a rotary switch is operated and the sound volume is changed, notification of the sound volume after changed is given by a sample sound and lamps 71-79 and 81-89. The sample sound is outputted for 0.2 seconds from a loudspeaker with a sound volume at a volume level based on a value of the rotary switch after the change. The lamps 71-79 and 81-89 are lit for 5 seconds with a pattern corresponding to the value of the rotary switch after the change. Therefore, an operator can check visually and aurally the sound volume after the change, without conducting the troublesome operation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
