The invention relates to a method, a device and the utilization thereof for controlling the drive train of a motor vehicle having an internal combustion engine, a manual transmission and an electric machine arranged in such a way that it interacts with the manual transmission, wherein a protective measure is executed depending on a given operating state of the motor vehicle in order to maintain safe and comfortable operation of the motor vehicle.
