<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display the operation screen, corresponding to a change in system constitution or processing content, even when changes are made. <P>SOLUTION: When the user selects an instruction, an instruction analyzing section 11 analyzes the instruction and supplies required information to a UI-generating section 12 and a parameter management section 14. The UI-generating section 12 reads out the data of a prestored scan operating picture, because the type of the "scan" operation described in the instruction is the "scan" which is the preprovided function of a multi-function machine 10. In addition, the UI-generating section 12 sets the parameter value of the "color" of the scan operating screen to "true", because the default value of the "color" described in the instruction is "true".
