<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a carboxylic acid ester, by which an unreacted olefin containing substantially no carboxylic acid ester is efficiently recovered from a reaction product gas. <P>SOLUTION: The carboxylic acid ester is produced by reacting an olefin with a carboxylic acid in the presence of a catalyst and water under pressure in a vapor phase to give the reaction product gas, introducing the reaction product gas to the lower part of a first absorption column under pressure, cooling a part of the bottom condensate of the absorption column, returning the condensate to the top part of the absorption column, bringing the condensate into countercurrent contact with the reaction product gas, allowing the carboxylic acid ester and the carboxylic acid to be absorbed, introducing the overhead gas of the first absorption column to the lower part of a second absorption column, supplying the carboxylic acid or a water-containing carboxylic acid as an absorption solvent to the top part of the second absorption column, bringing the carboxylic acid or the water-containing carboxylic acid into countercurrent contact with the overhead gas of the first absorption column to allow the carboxylic acid ester to be absorbed and circulating the unreacted olefin recovered from the overhead of the second absorption column to the reaction system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
