PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems of noises, work environment deterioration, large vibrations, and the like in a combine harvester in suburban areas, because the speed of the travel apparatus of the combine harvester is set in response to the dry/wet state of a field, the fallen state of grain straws, the efficiency of a work and the like, and further because the engine of the combine harvester is always kept to an operation state without relating to the traveling speed or to the load of each portion. SOLUTION: This transmission of the combine harvester is characterized by disposing an engine 20 and an assist motor 23 for rotating and driving the travel device 7, a reaper 3 and a thresher 4 and independently selecting the engine 20 or the assist motor 23 in each work section of the travel device 7, the reaper 3 and the thresher 4.
