PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcasting receiver that can update auxiliary information on channel-wise broadcasts acquired automatically and stored by the user of the receiver at a convenient time. SOLUTION: When a timer 29 detects that the actuating time of an auxiliary information updating means 28a preregistered by means of an actuation control means 28b and the updating means 28a is actuated, the timer automatically supplies electric power to an auxiliary information receiving circuit from a power supply control section 33, and updates the auxiliary information 26a on one or a plurality of channels preindicated by the user stored in a RAM 26, in a state that the information is separated from each other by means of a demultiplexer 23 after the information is successively received by means of a ground tuner 20 by selecting stations. The actuating time is automatically selected and registered by the user at each channel from among time zones excluding preserved time zones, radio wave stopping periods, and the past viewing time zones of the user. The actuating time once registered is made resettable by automatically actuating the actuation control means 28b by pre-indicating the reevaluation timing of the actuating time.
