PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize conveyance and to reduce a noise caused by jumping-up, by controlling a height with respect to a recording sheet rear end, in a feeder for feeding the recording sheet from a loading plate energized to a recording sheet side by turning a circular-arc-shaped portion of a substantially half-moon-shaped feed roller. SOLUTION: The loading plate 4 including the recording sheet P is pushed down by a protrusion part 8 provided in the feed roller 6 in the condition shown in the figure, and the rear end of a recording sheet P2 is caught on the loading plate 4 including the recording sheet P. The jumping-up noise is generated thereby when the rear end of the recording sheet P2 passes a position 101 under the condition where the position 101 is positioned in a high level compared with a position 102. The height of the position 101 is made substantially horizontal to that of the position 102, that is, a step difference between the the position 101 and the position 102 is eliminated to smooth the conveyance, and the jumping-up noise is reduced thereby.
