PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the centrifugal separation of cells to minimize the contamination and the damage to cultured cell. SOLUTION: A cell C is cultured by adhesive culture in closed state in a culture vessel 10 having a gas-permeable membrane 12 free from the leakage of the medium, and the cultured cell is precipitated by a centrifugal separation apparatus S to centrifuge the cell in the culture vessel 10 and separate the cell C from the medium. The cell C can be recovered without transferring the cell C and the medium from the culture vessel 10 to another vessel. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
