PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce data volume to be transmitted via a communication network in collecting data in a computer system connecting computers including a plurality of computers at an information providing side and a plurality of computers at an information collecting side. SOLUTION: Information providing side computers 2, 3 classify their owned information into an information group A 2111, an information group B 2121, and an information group C 2131, and stores generation number information including identification numbers 2112, 2122, 2132, and the generation numbers respectively. An information collecting side computer 1 acquires at first the generation number information including the identification number and the generation number from the information providing side computers 2, 3. When the acquired generation number information does not agree with the generation number stored in its own local buffer 12, the information collecting side computer 1 acquires actual data of corresponding information group from the information providing computers 2, 3.
