The sealing strip has a fitting strip (4) and a cover strip (6), whereby the fitting strip has a first means of locking (16) to accommodate the cover strip and for fastening on a wall. The cover strip has a second means of locking (18) which in the installed state engages with the first means of locking. The first and second means of locking are located in one region of the sealing strip, and may be in an edge region or in a center section of the sealing strip. Several pairs of first and second locking means may be located on one sealing strip.
