The cylindrical or prismatic implant with or without a center opening, to restore the load-bearing performance of the spinal column, is inserted into the space for the disk between the vertebrae. It has a wedge-shaped chamfer to expand within the gap and increase the gap between vertebrae. The implant has upper and lower plates which are sharp at one end (3) and increasingly round at the other end (4). The implant is of a metal, polymer, or a compound material with a component which is shown in X-rays.
