<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light irradiation device capable of cooling a discharge lamp and a reflector in a casing with a simple cooling structure, also cooling the end part of an optical fiber, and efficiently using the light emitted from the discharge lamp. <P>SOLUTION: This light irradiation device, in which the discharge lamp 2 and the reflector 3 are arranged in the casing 1, and the light emitted from the discharge lamp 2 is converged at the end part 4a of the optical fiber 4 arranged out of the casing 1 by the reflector 3 is characterized in that the casing 1 has a cooling air inflow opening 11 for entering the cooling air for cooling the discharge lamp 2 and the reflector 3, and a cooling air outflow opening 12 for blowing the cooling air in the casing 1 toward the end part 4a of the optical fiber through the light reflected by the reflector 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
