<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive small fuel reformer having good responsiveness to start-up and giving reformed gas having a low concentration of CO. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel reformer 1 comprises a reforming section 2, a first adsorption-desorption section 3, a CO shift reaction section 4, and a second adsorption-desorption section 5. In the reforming section 2, a reforming reaction is carried out, and in the subsequent first adsorption-desorption section 3, CO or CO and steam are desorbed from a first adsorbing-desorbing material to reformed gas. In the CO shift reaction section 4, a CO shift reaction is carried out to lower the concentration of CO in the reformed gas. In the second adsorption-desorption section 5, CO or CO and steam in the reformed gas are adsorbed on a second adsorbing-desorbing material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
