<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate exchange of a gas cylinder for supplying gas necessary for power generation of a fuel battery, and completely back up an AC power supply by automatically charging the fuel battery with gas. <P>SOLUTION: This uninterruptible power supply unit is provided with a rectification device 2 for converting the voltage of an AC power supply 1 into DC voltage; a power storage device 3 connected with the rectification device 2; a fuel battery system 20 which includes the fuel battery, starts the fuel battery, and outputs DC voltage in case of failure in the AC power supply 1 or the rectification device 2 or a voltage drop in the power storage device 3; and an inverter 4 which is connected to the rectification device 2, the power storage device 3, and the fuel battery system 20 and converts into AC power, the output voltage of the rectification device 2, the voltage of the power storage device 3, or the output voltage of the fuel battery system 20.
