<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which a print image on a recording medium is scanned at a timing corresponding to variation in the carrying speed of the recording medium and matching of the scan data and the original data can be evaluated with high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: After initial processing is performed at each section of the apparatus when power is turned on (step 100), job information received from the PC side is analyzed to create print data and image forming operation is performed based on the print data thus created (steps 104-108). Upon finishing image formation, carrying speed of a recording sheet is detected and scanning timing corresponding to the detected carrying speed of the recording sheet is set before the image formed on the recording sheet is scanned at the scanning timing thus set (steps 112-116). Upon ending scanning of the image formed on the recording sheet, matching of the scan data and the original data is judged (step 120). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
