<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic nanoparticle medium which is prepared by depositing a magnetic nanoparticle colloid on a substrate and in which the magnetic anisotropic axes of crystal particles are highly accurately aligned. <P>SOLUTION: An L10 alloy nanoparticle layer in which the L10 alloy nanoparticles exhibiting magnetism by disorder-ordering transformation are arranged substantially at uniform intervals, and the covering film of an organic compound surrounding the particles and containing carbon for making the intervals substantially uniform are disposed on a substrate, and at least one kind of nonmagnetic element is added to the nanoparticle L10 alloy, or a covering layer made of at least one kind of nonmagnetic element is formed around the nanoparticle L10 alloy. Thus, a magnetic recording medium in which an average particle diameter is small, particle diameter dispersion is small, and magnetic anisotropic characteristics are aligned is realized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
