<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce hardware to be required for performing electrical conversion and termination processing, and to lower the apparatus cost. <P>SOLUTION: In an upstream side OXC (optical cross connect) node, a topology detection message (test message) created by a control signal terminating unit 14 is converted into an optical signal by an O/E converting unit 15, and is given to an optical transmission IF (intermediate frequency) unit 18. An LMP (link manager protocol) control unit 13 is designed to select one of data channels of the optical transmission IF unit, and to control the O/E converting unit 15, to transmit the test message through the selected data channel. The LMP control unit 13 on the downstream side OXC node is designed to select one of data channels of the optical reception IF unit 17, and to control the O/E-converting unit 15 and the control signal terminating unit 14 to be each transmitted the test message to be received through the selected data channel. As a result, a single unit is sufficient for the O/E-converting unit 15 and the control signal terminating unit 14, and the apparatus cost is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
