摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a coercive force of a rare earth magnet using a quenched alloy as its raw material. <P>SOLUTION: The rare earth sintered magnet has a main phase composed of a compound (R: a rare earth element) having a R<SB>2</SB>Fe<SB>14</SB>B type crystal structure and a grain boundary phase positioned at a grain boundary part of the main phase. The grain boundary phase has new constitution including an amorphous layer part covering the surface of the main phase and a nonmagnetic crystal layer part present in an area sandwiched between amorphous layer parts and suppresses the formation of a reverse magnetic domain. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
