<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system having a color calibration function which can automatically realize the calibration function. <P>SOLUTION: A sensor unit 42 for acquiring color information of a patch image, an ambient temperature sensor 90, and a fixer temperature sensor 92 are always provided in an engine 30. A BEP 600 periodically causes the printing of a test patch to be interrupted. The sensor unit 42 detects color information on the patch image on a sheet after passing through a fixer 70. A color conversion characteristic acquirer 662 prepares a color conversion profile so as to reduce a color difference on the basis of a Lab value measured by the sensor unit 42 and a dataset for a YMCK value. When a difference between the prepared color conversion profile and a reference exceeds a predetermined range, a color data corrector 666 applies calibration to the YMCK value inputted from the FEP 500. When a temperature change detected by the sensors 90, 92 exceed the predetermined range, the color conversion profile previously prepared is modified by an amount corresponding to the temperature change. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
