PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a plasma confining device, and an electron/ion beam generating device by forming a desired magnetic field by a molten bulk high-temperature superconductor.
SOLUTION: The electron/ion beam generating device 20 is structured by engaging two molten bulk high-temperature superconductors 22, 23 with a cylindrical container 21 for generating plasma when a voltage is applied to a pair of discharge electrodes 24, 25 arranged inside. The molten bulk high-temperature superconductors 22, 23 are arranged in the periphery of the outside of the discharge electrodes with different magnetic poles faced with each other. The plasma is confined between both of the molten bulk high-temperature superconductors 22, 23. A lead-out electrode 27 is arranged in parallel in an outer side position of the discharge electrode 25, and an electron is extracted from the plasma by the lead-out electrode 27 and is accelerated, and an electron beam is emitted from the lead-out electrode 27.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
