PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery of excellent safety and reliability capable of more surely inhibiting battery temperature from arising even if the battery temperature abruptly rises due to short-circuiting, overcharge, or the like. SOLUTION: This secondary battery is equipped with a positive electrode made by disposing a positive electrode active material layer on a first current collector, a negative electrode made by disposing a negative electrode active material layer on a second current collector, and a first layer including particles. The first layer is disposed between the positive electrode active material layer and the negative electrode active material layer.
