PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner with a plurality of optical paths which has excellent absolute position precision and excellent deviation in scanning speed uniformity between optical paths. SOLUTION: The optical scanner is equipped with a stepping motor 106 for mirror adjustment which adjusts a return mirror so as to obtain a uniform scanning speed by moving the return mirror around a portion of the return mirror as a fulcrum at right angles to a reflecting surface of the return mirror to vary the distance between the reflecting surface of the return mirror and an image carrier and a stepping motor 107 for imaging lens adjustment which moves the imaging lens around a portion of the imaging lens as a fulcrum at right angles to a plane that the scanning track of a light beam incident on the imaging lens forms to vary the tile in a direction perpendicular to a horizontal scanning direction and thus adjusts the imaging mirror so that the scanning line will not slant to deviate from a desired scanning position.
