PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To freely control the balance of a color temperature over a wide range in the complementary color balance function of a camera system wherein photographing of a wide dynamic range is performed by combining long-time exposure and short-time exposure. SOLUTION: In the conventional complementary color balance function, a gain coefficient is just multiplied to a chrominance signal but in an invention, offset values A and B are added before and after a multiplier, so that the correction is freely performed over the wide range also including a minus gain in short-time side and long-time side color temperature areas. Namely, only by adding adders 110 and 210 on the pre-stage of multipliers 120 and 220, not only the gain=inclination but also a plus or minus offset value is freely set, so that the complementary color balance is controlled regardless of CR and CB axis direction illustrated in the figure, namely, regardless of a quadrant.
