PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original reading and recording device which can stimulate caution to forgetting collection of an original from an FBS more strongly to a user, in a compound machine having the FBS. SOLUTION: When the original is set to the FBS and copying is started, whether reading of the original is completed is judged (ST1). When reading is completed, whether the original exists in the FBS is judged (ST2). When the original exists in the FBS, notification sound to forgetting collection of the original is generated by a buzzer (ST3). Continuously, whether printing is completed is judged (ST4), and whether the original exists in the FBS is judged when printing is completed (ST5). When there is no original, usual notification sound is generated by the buzzer (ST6). When still remaining, notification sound to forgetting collection of the original is generated by the buzzer (ST7). The notification sounds generated in the ST3, the ST6 and the ST7 are sounds which can be easily distinguished mutually. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
