PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for recording the pictures/information of a broadcast program, by which picture contents introduced in the program or more detailed information are automatically recorded. SOLUTION: According to the method and the system, a broadcast program provider incorporates information related to a program into a broadcast signal, and deliver the program with an instruction signal for recording the information and relevant pictures. When a TV receiving set 2', a video recorder 5, and an adaptor 3 receive the instruction signal; the information and relevant pictures are recorded in built-in memories 21, 31, 51, and subsequently displayed on a display unit.
