PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a paper detector from being broken by a wrong operation when a user manually inserts a tray for label recording into a recording apparatus. SOLUTION: A transfer driven roller 54b pivoted by two transfer driven roller holders 58b of the outside butts against a recess 34 of the tray 3. The tray 3 is secured by the transfer driven roller 54b to be in such a state that an insertion position in an insertion direction (direction indicated by a sign E) is regulated. A recess width L3 of the recess 34 is set to be smaller than a distance L1 from an end (part where the transfer driven roller 54b butts against the recess) at the downstream side in a vertical scanning direction Y of the transfer driven roller 54b which butts against the recess and secures the tray 3 to a leading end 412 of a lever 41 (L1>L3). The tray 3 has the recess 34 secured by the transfer driven roller 54b at a position before a leading end 33 reaches the leading end 412 of the lever 41, and is brought into a state in which the tray cannot be pushed in furthermore in the insertion direction (sign E).
