PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which maintains adequate releasability, fixing degree, glossiness, prevents image disturbance caused by deformation resulting from a wrinkle in a releasing layer and damage to the leading end of paper, and ensures a high speed and a long life, and to provide a fixing rotor used in the fixing device. SOLUTION: The fixing device passes a recording material 3 with an unfixed toner image 4 carried thereon through a nip formed between a fixing roll 1 and a pressure roll 2, thereby fixing the unfixed toner image 4. In the fixing device, an amount of the deformation of the nip part is 0.6 mm to 1.2 mm. The fixing roll 1 has an elastic layer 1b, and a releasing layer 1c, disposed on the peripheral face of the elastic layer 1b, which is composed of a fluorinated carbon resin tube having a thickness of 20μm to 40μm. The extension rate of the fluorinated carbon resin is 4% to 8%. The fixing roll 1 (fixing rotor) is used in the fixing device. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
