PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely remove by a simple structure an externally added agent and other matter sticking to an electrifying roller. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus forms a toner image on an image carrier and transfers and fixes the toner image on a recording medium in the end, thereby forming an image formed from the toner image fixed on the recording medium. The image forming apparatus includes the electrifying roller 16 which electrifies the image carrier 15, and a brush 45 which is disposed in contact with the electrifying roller 16 in order to remove toner sticking to the electrifying roller 16. The brush 45 is made of a mixed material consisting of a first fiber material 46 which is flexible and conductive and a second fiber material 46 which is stiffer than the first fiber material 46a.
