PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera in which processings that are to be conducted by the camera are selected in accordance with the operation of a remote controller. SOLUTION: When no operating state continues for a prescribed time, a CPU21 outputs an off command to a DCDC converter 22 to conduct a power saving operation. The CPU21 beforehand transmits on information, which indicates a necessary switch that turns on the converter 22 in accordance with the switch operation during the power saving operation, to a power supply starting discrimination circuit 26a prior to enter into the power saving operation. When a switch which corresponds to the on signal being inputted during the power saving operation matches with the switch indicated by the on information, the circuit 26a starts the converter 22. An interface circuit 27a generates operating information that shows which switch of a remote controller device 12 is used to output the on signal and an on signal to be outputted to the circuit 26a, outputs the generated on signal to the circuit 26a and outputs the operating information to the CPU21.
