The vehicle heating and air-conditioning system has an evaporator unit (1) arranged longitudinally at the base of the central console. This has air channels connecting it to a heat exchanger (2) above it, above which is a mixing chamber (5) with an upper air duct system comprising left- and right-hand ducts with a trapezium-shaped cross-section. An impermeable partition stretches over the heat exchanger and part of the mixing chamber.
