[Also in Group XVII] In apparatus for making and filling bags (see Group XVII) heat-sealable thermoplastic threads 10 are extruded through nozzles 9 on to strip material, e.g. paper, so that the threads run longitudinally of the strip. A second strip is sealed to the coated strip by means of rollers (one shown at 6). In a modification, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown) the threads 10 are applied to both strips. Rollers may replace the nozzles 9 for applying the threads. |
